Wiring diagram

Hi Guys. I am in need of help trying to sort out the wiring on my recently purchased 1968 Evinrude 55hp outboard. The colours in the workshop manual that I have don't match up with the colours on the motor or ignition etc? The model numer is 55872R if that helps but if somebody can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

What manual do you have.----Which wires are the issue for you.---This motor is 55 years old.----Post the compression numbers here.-----Perhaps test the electric shift before spending beer tokens on this motor.

Clymer Evinrude service and repair 40 to 135hp 1965 to 1975. The engine might be 55 years old but has been well looked after. Can't do anything without the key KF 3 which I have just ordered from Marine Engine.
