When did mercruiser 1.7 dti get the update? Better wastegate and turbo etc.

Not a direct answer to your question but you could

1.look in the parts section here for when those part numbers on the waste gate and turbo changed or are superceded. You can compare the engine serial number where this occurred vs your engine serial number as they go up sequentially.
