What year is this 15 hp Mercury Mariner?

The motor is an electric start, long shaft, with a serial # 06153688. We are both a long way from the boat so this is from his bill of sale. Thanks Mike

Mike are you sure it's a 15 HP and not a Mercury 25 HP EL ???


This serial number (06153688) show it to be a 1982, Model number 1025522 MERCURY 25 EL.
 
Thanks much for your reply. I asked the owner for more info about the motor #. He is in Iowa and the boat is in Wisconsin. One of us will have to look at the motor itself and see what's up. Mike
