What Year is my Mercury

" Hi Guys,

I have a 19?? 9.8 Mercury outboard. I need to do some work to it and not sure what year the thing is. The Merc dealer here wasn't much help. He kept asked me for the Model Number and I told him the only thing on it is a Serial Number and the word "Lightning" on the block.

Here is the SN: 5636634
