"My westerbeke is hard to star
"My westerbeke is hard to start when cold! I removed the glow plugs and they are working, get hot after 10 seconds. I removed my injectors and turned over the engine only to find minimal spray from the injectors( I have had the injectors rebuilt). I compared this to a friends Volvo and his injectors spew fuel in a nice spray all over the place. I wondered if this is normal for Westerbeke injectors. My Westerbeke 12B two will run up to 3500 rpm, no problem which seems to indicate the engine is working OK?. When I use the pre-heat switch for 10 seconds then push the start button the engine must take at least 1 minute to start, it turns over OK but slowly gains speed while I keep both the pre heat and start button energized. I have not checked the valve clearance adjustment and was thinking of doing so, hoping this might work?. This engine has about 100 hours on it. I am stuck and was wondering if some one can shed more light on my problem!
