Hi, I have a 1979 black max - 175HP - the prop slips a tooth every 2 seconds, and if I push the revs too high, it jumps out of gear. I inspected everything and the FWD gear is Ok, clutch dog is OK. Was confused, then figured it out. The spring is weak, after 34 years it cannot hold the clutch onto the FWD gear against the centrifugal force. The guy with the pontoon that wrote a thread recently, should consider this. My spring is 70mm when un compressed. Anyone know what it should measure? Thx
