Water pump rebuilding Question on Alpha One Drive

Just rebuilt 2 (Twin Drives) water pumps The upper seal where the drive shaft goes into the upper housing is shot. Anyone have that seal number.
I read some where that when installing the lower not to use the oring on the drive shaft as this wreaks the seal on install, (the newer shafts have no oring groove).
Just go with the seal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Number on seal is PSD 2802 20678
Anyone cross this to a seal I can get at auto store?

The pre alpha and the transition MR before the alpha 1 gen 1 they had the oring groove. The oring is designed to KEEP grease on the splines on the shaft end.

That is its only purpose.

whether you use it or not is up to you.

What about the seal then I believe it does the same thing. The is another seal above that that keeps the oil in gear set.
