Hello everyone,
I have taken over a project that I could really use some help with.
The boat is a 2011 with a pair of 5.7's and the EVC-C3 system with electronic steering
Engine Serial Numbers A112918 and A112917
The previous shop was trying to fix a steering issue and replaced the SCU. From what I can tell, the part number is correct (23097949) but there seems to be a calibration issue as it is now calling for the HCU software to be upgraded.
It is currently not steering with the active fault code:
Incompatible EVC software
MID 250
PSID 5
FMI 8
The service manual advises that the HCU software be updated.
Is this because the SCU was not programmed with the correct software?
Could someone please advise as to how to proceed?
Is this something that requires dealer level Vodia software and hardware or can it be done with aftermarket diagnostic equipment?
If someone has the technology to help or is willing to provide technical support, the customer is happy to pay for assistance to get this done.
