trim tab

I have a Nissan 70B TLDI and have a simple question. My trim tab is largely in tact but has become very rough. I t is not zink in color so I was wondering if I should clean or grind it smooth or just replace it or do nothing at this point.

It's a sacrificial anode, in addition to being the trim tab. Get
