Trim sending unit on VP SX

Is there a trick to inserting the wire harness rubber Grommet (plug)
I’ve tried grease but can’t get it started
I’m working with the out drive still on the boat

Ayuh,..... My guess is, That's the problem,....

For stuffing rubber pieces into holes, a few drops of Quicksilver Power Tune, can't be beat,.....
