I have a Motorguide trolling motor Pontoon I3 with remote controls. The transmission is now failing for the 3rd time and it gets expensive to keep repairing it. If the boat sits for a week or two the motor will not turn until I forcibly move it back and forth. After I force it, it works fine the rest of the day. I was wondering if I could drill a small hole and insert a zert fitting to fill unit with grease. What are your thoughts on making this modification? Thank you for any insight you can provide.
