Top Cowling Rubber Gasket for Evinrude 1961 5.5

Hi,
I need to replace a gasket that mates to top cowling on this vintage engine. The rubber seal is not cheap online and just wondering if anyone has successfully used any other supplies to replace. Seems like something from Home Depot might do the trick...
