Tohatsu M30A2 converting short shaft to long shaft

I have a Tohatsu M30A2 30 hp short shaft that came with a cheap aluminum boat that I panel set up for a budget fishing rig. the boat is a deep V so the short shaft motor is useless above idle. It has also came with a Tohatsu M25c 25hp long shaft with a bad rod. The 30hp run beautifully. I want to swap the long shaft to the 30HP. Everything looks like its the same on the lower unit and shaft assemblies. Has anyone ever done this or know the procedure for swapping the shafts to make a short shaft into a long shaft

Change out the complete LU. Also need the extension housing. Done.
