timing a 1992 115 hp 2 stroke mercury

In checking the timing on a 1992 115 hp mercury found the idle setting at 24 ",
manual states (max BDTC CRANKING 22 " BTDC)
(WOT timing BTDC 20 ").
Should idle timing be set at 22" or 20" ?????????????
It starts and runs well as is,should I adjust it ???

Max timing at cranking speed should be 22 degrees,,,it will retard to 20 degrees at speed

For some reason I can not adjust the idle timing below 24".(adjusted screw in and out with no change)
It starts 1st go and runs well with ears on, have not put in water yet

???-----------Only the maximum timing advance is set.------------The " idle timing " is the point where throttle opens.---Thus that is a carburetor / linkage adjustment.----And finally where timing is when motor idles smoothly does not matter !
