Throttle won't stay wide open

I have a 1973 Envirude 6HP. When I have the throttle wide open and then let go of the throttle, it slowly reduces to about 3/4 of full. Is there a tensioner somewhere that I need to tighten? Thanks.

Take the handle apart and see if somebody didn't over lube the friction wheel in it.

In addition to Boobies on target response....... In back of the throttle handle,visible after you remove the handle, there should be a "brass washer", a "spring". and the "friction block". Note that sometimes the friction block gets momentarily stuck in the handle when removed.... #3, #8, #9
