I started out replacing just a thermostat on a 1978 70hp Johnson until one of the bolts snapped. Then in removing the cylinder head cover to fix that bolt, snapped two more
. Anyway after lots of practice removing broken bolts I’m now bolting it back together with OEM gaskets. I wouldn’t have thought a gasket replacement product like Loctite 518 was best to smear on the surfaces and gaskets but would like to put something. Any thoughts?
