tach stuck on 1900rpm. have re

tach stuck on 1900rpm. have removed and cleaned all connection. reinstaalled . still not moving. have tach on workbench. can it be checked while out of boat?

got the new tach and want to calibrate it the existing tach on the port engine. how to do? is the small hole on the back the rpm adjuster?

"For the most part "No User Adjustments Possible" is the standard policy for most makers. Most of the quicksilver instruments I've seen are 'in tolerance' when new.

You can still 'calibrate' both gauges by getting an optical, non-contact tach and use it as the common reference. You can then build a table (deviation card) just like they use on larger ships and airplanes."

the tach used by Searay has a small hole on the back with letters CAL. using a small screwdriver you can adjust or calibrate up to a 600 rpm.variance. thanks for the help.

Searay uses Faria or Teleflex. log on to www marine tachometer calibration and click "boating magazine powerboaters guide". there is an article that shows the rear of the tach with the wiring and the cal adjustment hole. some use a 5/64 allen wrench or a small screwdriver.
