Hello I recently replaced the T-Stat on my M/C (half system) After I replaced it and added coolant was I supposed to "bleed" the air out?? The reason I ask is because for first couple times out I have had to add coolant, and the Res. bottle was empty.
Thanks!
Rick

If you don't see a bleed valve at the highest point then it self bleeds...burps...and vacuum created sucks the coolant out of the overflow reservior. Keep checking the reservior...it should stop after a few top offs...just like cars do.

Thanks Guy, There is a small Hex screw on the top of the T-Stat houing is that the bleed screw and if so whats the proceedure?

Thank very much!
Rick

I wait for the engine to reach operating temperature and let the pressure push/bleed the air until liquid comes out then close it. Some screws w/a nut around it require the nut to be loosened before opening the bleed screw. You'll have to check how it works cold.
