Swapping a Chrysler Crown M47S with

"I have a 1946 16' Chris C

"I have a 1946 16' Chris Craft runabout powered with a Chrysler Crown M-47S 135 HP engine. This winter our boat suffered a fair amount of damage from a collapsing barn roof where she was kept. I won't know the extent of the damage until the snow melts and I can safely get at the boat. Since I will be doing a fair amount of work on her (again)and I will be pulling the motor out this time, I am wondering about repowering her with a more modern V8 engine. A V8 with 12 volt electrical system would be easier to start and would get better fuel economy. Does anyone have a suggestion about which engine would work as a repowering option?

I had swapped out twin M47s with 351 Ford Windsors.
 
I just took out a 302ford from

I just took out a 302ford from a boat that was never run it mates right up to the warner trans drive coupling and all even the bell housing fits Im going to keep it just in case
