The tacho reads ok at idle, but at about half throttle it will read approx. 4300rpm and on opening the throttle slightly, the tacho needle is likely to fall to around 3500. It will go to 5700 - 5800 at full throttle. Where is the extraneous signal likely to be coming from or is it likely to be a faulty tacho? "
