25 hp mercury 2 stroke. 2004.
No issues getting to my dock the other day. Started it up today and it does not shift into forward or reverse. Revs fine. All canes and linkage intact from remote to the motor. Remote control connections are good. Cables move freely when disconnected from the motor. Not sure what the issue is but there isn’t the typical clunk when putting in gear. Doesn’t seem like a spun prop hub as there is absolutely no prop rotation.
could it be a linkage issue where the cam lever connects to the shifting rod? I have t removed the starter to look at that yet.
