Stator Wires

Hi to all from Australia some opinions and help please with 1979 90hp inline 6 S/N 8057895 this is the last of the distrubitor model first the 2 wires from the stator to rectifier the outer covering is cracking off and the wires have turned green does this affect the charging rate can I just re cover the copper wire with heatshrink also with the trigger in the distrubitor is the operation similar to automotive triggers in that either work or they don't or can they not fire on just 1 cyl thanks

Sorry, Mate, but you'll have to find another stator. I've tried to rescue a few with the wires rotted right to the core of the part with no luck. One can buy a new wiring harness for the rest of the wires, but you'll need to find another stator.
