Start up after two days in Hurrican Irene

My 13 Whaler sat through Irene, and two days of wind and rain, plus freshwater waves that swamped the stern of the boat while it was beached ( covered). I had taken out the battery and gas tank. Can I simply reattached everything and fire it up, or should I be concerned at all about water in the engine ? Appreciate all advice.

If water got into the engine you should make every effort to get it running.------------If you can not get it running then find a shop that will help you " yesterday " as next week may be too late.
