I pulled the powerhead off my friends M70A and the gasket to the engine base was trashed and blown through in a section.
Based on the manual, I should apply Threebond 1107 to both sides of the replacement gasket. I could find very little on this other than that it's a non-hardening high temp paste. Given that I could find almost NO information on this on the whole 'net, what is an appropriate substitute?
I also need to cut a new gasket and the Tohatsu OEM part is obsolete. I'm thinking of 1/32" material from an automotive store, like a sheet of Fel-Pro or Mr. Gasket's premium high temp gasket material. Not sure what I'll find locally just yet, but if anyone has a specific recommendation I'm all ears.
Thanks,
David
