Solved Hard Starting MerCruiser 3.0

Success...... for years trying to solve hard starting issue. Engine would not start hot unless throttle lever was in full throttle position. Made a 1/2 thick plate from phenolic material with four mounting holes and the two holes for each barrel and sandwiched it between the intake manifold and the carb. Took it out for the first time last weekend and it started every time no issues. The intake manifold was its usual hot temperatures but now the carb was almost cool to the touch. Just thought I would post how well it worked. No more running down the battery or wearing out the starter.

You could have bought a thicker gasket.

Tried that still too much heat transfer. Only took me about an hour to make it in my shop.
