Single Fuel-line conversions

Can a 1951 model 4441 Evinrude be converted to a single-line fuel system? If so, can it be done with a by-pass cover-mounted fuel pump?

It doesn't have bypass covers, does it? Don't remove those slab-side covers. They are next to impossible to reinstall without leaking.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself as I won't have the motor until spring. I don't have any diagrams for it, so I don't know how the fuel system is set up on it.

Here's the 12hp Gale version. Similar to the Evinrude 14hp but with some differences

Thanks for posting the info you have. I;m sure it will be a bg help whrn i am ready to rebuild the motor. Here's a tip for your computer. Make a separate partition for your date files. That way, when your computer crashes, you won't lose any data.

Not stupid, it's just the lingo. Also known as "wedge head" design.

I think you could drill and tap into the intake cover and "grab" a pulse, then hook up a 3 line fuel pump. I am gonna dig out my 14 and take a look. I'll snap a photo for you. Forecast high today here is -4 F......no heat in shop......yes, pretty stupid, but winter I sell firewood anyway. There's 2 1/2 feet of ice on our lakes.
Sir Gator, I have that very same fuel tank in your attachment.....still in great condition.

I'll check that out, but I wanted to post a picture as promised. This is my personal 14 horse. It's missing the port side lower cowling.... otherwise near mint. Here is the intake side cover......what the heck is a "slab"??? Guess I learned something new too, thanks Gator.....Boobie, your not alone. It's held on with slotted screws. Check out those plug wires......1951, original.

Okay I watched the video, but that motor has different intake/bypass covers like more "modern" designs. The plastic tank and hose he has is no good, so avoid going that route unless you have a nice steel tank and hose, which he produced when he started the motor. Few things I didn't like about his job, but overall a good outcome.
