What rpm numbers should i be seeing idling as well as at wot?
what should my compression numbers be? I need to set my idling because my boat bogs out at wot under load. Runs good on land with muffs, but underload. How much pressure should i be seeing in the cylinders. Boat is a 1993 bayliner quantum being pushed by a raker 14 1/2 x 26 prop. Each cylinder seems to have pretty good spark. Just changed spark plugs and fuel pump. Just need to set my iding, so i can take off under load. Also random question am i supposed to put plugs in the ski locker?
 
Compression should be around 120 PSI.----All plugs out and cranking with good battery and starter.----Crank till needle stops moving up.
 
Im new to owning a boat by myself ive been around them my whole life as my dad was a hardcore fisher before he passed. Im not sure what an impeller is or how to change it.
 
The impeller is in the water pump.---Very important part.-----Golden rule of boating is install a new one on a " new to you boat and or motor "-----Remove lower unit as water pump is on top of it.
