Replacing water pump on 94 90hp Mercoutboard

Are there any special tools r

Are there any special tools required? Any precautions I should be especially aware of.

" No special tools that I know

" No special tools that I know of,just mark your torque tab,so it goes back in the same place,I use a little vasoline on the new impeller,water pick up tube and shaft spines,be sure your blades on the new impeller are bent back in the pump houseing in the right direction of rotaion and make sure the water pick up tube lines up,good luck

Do yourself a favor and don't disturb the position of the driveshaft and shiftshaft while the lower unit is off; things line up without hassle that way. I've made that mistake a few times and it's faster when the lower unit slips on easily and correctly the first time.
