Hi, couldn't find previous thread so sorry if this is a repeat.
A chunk of my outer exhaust housing cracked away during my failed attempt to replace motor mounts...(success on left side, but not so much on right during bolt extraction). Looks like there was already some chunks cracked away inside the housing.
I have purchased a used exhaust housing.
Looks like I should be able to remove the bolts at top of the exhaust housing where it connects to the powerhead to remove the exhaust housing with the motor still on the boat (upper motor mount bolts still connected so assume I'd have to provide addl support by attaching a hoist overhead).
Before I cause more DIY damage, anyone ever done this w/o removing engine from boat?
Motor itself is fine...the motor mounts were terribly corroded and covers had started cracking away.
