Remove Throttle and Gear Cable on 1972 Mercury 800 Motor

I'm stuck removing the cables on my 1972 Mercury 800. I have the forward latch up and can see the barrels, but can't figure out how to remove the cable at this point. Attached are a couple of photos. Any help will be appreciated.

First picture.----That black plastic latch flips out of the way.---No tools required to do that.

Thanks racerone. The problem was, I did not know that the front part lifted straight up after disengaging the back lip. It was stuck and needed a pretty good pull to break it loose. Got it though and thanks for the information. Have a good one today.
