remove temp sending unit

I am going to replace the intake manifold on my 1979 318. Will I be able to remove the temp sending unit or will I destroy it trying and just get a new one?

It should unscrew without problems.

PS: Do NOT use Teflon tape to reinstall it--the ground circuit goes through the threads.

No tape, ok, should I put anything on the threads? Thread sealer, lock tite?

Use a tapered pipe thread sealant.
The female and male threads will still offer negative continuity.
