My late 80’s Mariner outboard has developed a reason to stop running while slowly trolling along. Just stops without any other warning or display. After several quick key turns (without prolonged turning over) the motor starts again and off we go again till the next stop. I think it’s either the fuel pump or something electrical that waits for a cooldown and then is able to continue. The engine cowling off seems to help.
Any ideas?
