" I HAVE JUST REBUILT MY V6 15

" I HAVE JUST REBUILT MY V6 150HP VRO AFTER REPLACING RINGS SEALS AND GASKETS,WHEN I STRIPPED IT I FOUND THAT ONE OF THE PISTONS WAS BADLY PITTED FROM THE SPARK ARCING OFF IT,IHAVE NOW REPLACED THE PISTON AND I HAVE IT READY FOR STARTING.COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN AND WHAT ACTION CAN I NOW TAKE TO ENSURE THIS WONT HAPPEN AGAIN.IS THERE ANY THING IN PARTICULAR I SHOULD DO BEFORE I SHOULD START IT???THANKS IN ADVANCE "

Spark arcing of it?? I think

Spark arcing of it?? I think not. Check the timing and make sure you are running the correct prop.Make sure that carburetors are clean and cooling system is in good order.Fuel going into a 2 stroke has a considerable cooling affect and a plugged high speed jet will fry a piston. If you do not find the culprit you may find it when you have to do the job again.
