My next project engine.
This is what greeted me this spring:
I'm guessing I must have picked up a bit of water in my oil and it froze
and cracked the gearbox. First time this has happened to me.
Oil leaks out from the exhaust too.
These gearboxes were used on so many V4 engines over the years it should be dirt cheap,
but the boat wrecker near me charges like they are made of gold.
Should I try and fix this one? I have not disassembled this yet to check for further damage but
the oil in the exhaust doesn't look good.
