Power Trim with plastic housing, replace or rebuild?

I have a 2015 200HP Verado and power trim is leaking oil; a gasket is torn out.
The power lift works fine otherwise. Also, its the plastic housing version, not the metal housing.

I wrote to Mercury support and they recommend replacing the whole unit, and warned me about future failures if I rebuild it.

Replacing the unit is stupid expensive and the full unit is not even available now, plus it's only a 2015, low hours.

Does anyone have experience with rebuilding the power trim w/ plastic housing? Is it really that delicate?
Or do I have shell out for a new one whenever it becomes available?

Thank you.
