Yes, these power packs have a rev limiter, which is connected to the temperature switch in case engine runs too hot.
I believe the small jump wire with the 5001344 power pack is for that lead going to temp switch. Because the 5001344 has a female fitting and the 585224 has a male fitting.
Both power packs are stamped CD2SL/6100 and I was wondering if the only difference is the small jumper wire.
