It's me again....I have a 99 50 HP Johnson that one of the coil wires on the stator got between the stator and the coil. I haven't had spark since....Yes i replaced the stator. The question is.....Could that wire shorting have taken out the power pack. Everything else before that checks out, but I can't find much on that unit. It ran great before this.

I don't think those wires took out the power pack. I suggest you check the black/white sensor wires for internal breakage where they are constantly bending back and forth with every throttle movement. Wiggle them around while doing a continuity test.

I did that....this wire was pinched between the coil and the flywheel. I wish I could get a continuity test for the power pack
