Pertronix wiring.

Partly a stem from another thread but thought this thread would give another angle and more attention.

Short and simple, how do you guys have your Pertronix ignition with Flamethrower coil hooked up?

On mine when I run a 12v supply line from the ignition switch to the + side of coil, I start blowing fuses...How do you guys get a dedicated 12v source without blowing fuses?
 
what is the resistance of the primary of the coil. with wires removed place ohmmeter across the positive and negetive terminals.

also when the engine is running what is the voltage output to the 12 volt system from your alternator/regulator ?

remove the ignition distributor cap check that the wire to the ignitor is not pinched to ground..
 
What happened to the original wiring? Hook the coil up as it was before. Then hook up the pertronix red to + side of coil and black to - side of coil and your done. And yes do what J cat says, check for a pinched wire.
