no spark

i have a 1995 evinrude 150 ,its been settin for bout 6 months i tried to crank the motor and found out it has no spark on any of the 6 plug wires . it was running fine last time i used it , thinking maybe the sensor or coil pak ? is there anyway to check thses parts to see if they work or not ?

What is the engine model? Is it OIS ignition?

OK, did you coat the engine with oil ( IE, WD40, CRC 656, Fogging oil) before you put it up? I could be as simple as a dirty optical sensor.

no i did not coat the motor with anything , i live in fla so i did not store it

Well either way, start with cleaning the optical sensor. Just a little dirt on it and you will get a "No spark" condition.

A Q-tip.

You need to physically clean the optical sensor with a clean Q-tip or a soft cloth. WD40 will coat the sensor and disrupt the signal. After you have cleaned the sensor if you still do not have ignition, go to the link in post #2 and look up your engine. It will tell you where to start for testing. PAGE 61
