Just fixed crankcase seal on 1973 Johnson 70hp had to add new starter motor now can't get her to fire. Not a lick, any suggested ideas will be appreciated Help!

dont know where to start looking, took powerhead off to fix and only went straight to seal crankcase did not take stator compleatly off . with the new compression the old starter would not turn fast enough, fixed that w/new s/motor, now

If you pulled apart any wire connections ?

Find the loose one or possibly 2 wires were criss crossed.

Double double check all the wires ends & connectors.............Even ones you DID NOT PULL APART on the engine. Could have broken somehow.

Okay got fire. Now starving fuel. Took flywheel off checked everything found out wasn't tourqued down. Wondering why hood didn't fit right, starter fluid to see if hatpd fire, good but won't start. Had problem with fuel line from connect to pump before, short stubby one, factory. Put it back on. Now will change again. Im ready for some fishing . ..I did remove flywheel,
