New shifter problems

"When i put the shifter in forward or reverse and try to accelerate there is no movement from the throttle. Cable is fine ,but throttle cable arm is not moving at shifter. Is there a cam inside the shifter that rotates this arm once forward or reverse is engaged. I am hoping it will be a simple fix, and not new shifter time.Trying to save that dollar for bigger and better things"
 
so remove the shifter and disa

so remove the shifter and disassemble and tell us whats what.

on ebay shifters are 20 bucks.

"Shifter is OMC, the one that

"Shifter is OMC, the one that was installed from manufacture on 92 Seaswirl OMC Cobra. I did take the shifter apart and this is what i found. As the drive cam rotates to engage in forward or reverse there is a slot that the throttle arm pin sits in and it rotates with the drive cam. The arm is held in place with a single screw and this screw had backed out just far enough for the throttle arm pin to disengage the slot and was not turning. Just had to tighten the screw and everythings fine. Got lucky on that one!"
