New 9.9 4 stroke... throttle max at 50% when in gear, 100% when in Neutral.. how do I adjust?

Hello, thank you for any tips.

We have a new 9.9 HP mercury 4 stroke. I am four hours from dealer. Motor runs fine, in neutral throttles up fully... I will call that 100% throttle.

When I put into gear it max's out at under 50% ... any tips on how to adjust and get full throttle in gear?

Stop-----It will rev up in neutral ( like any other motor ) and it will do that because there is no load on the motor.----Check spark.-----Sounds like it is running on 1 cylinder.----Try a new sparkplug first.----Do not start doing any adjusting if you are unsure of things !!

Thanks, hmmm, when i take it out it performs smoothly until it gets up to an=bout half throttle then the handle will not turn more.

Phone the selling dealer and consult.-----I do not believe you should adjust anything yourself.----Can you see the carburetor throttle plate ( if it has one ) opening fully??
