I am new to the forum. I have a new 1996 Seahorse 4 hp. I don't mean new to me I mean this motor has never been on a boat until I got it. I got it from my uncle that got it new for a trolling motor and never put it on.
I mixed up some gas 25-1 like the books say for a new motor. I ran it in a barrel for the first hour of break in. Then I put it on my inflatable pontoon and took it for a two hour run. I am breaking it in by the book. I have ran it up to full speed a few times and it runs good. Here is the question.
I have a 2.6 hp Coleman 4 stroke. It will push my boat at 5.1 mph. The most the Seahorse 4 hp would push it is only 6.1 mph. Is that all the faster it is going to run? I do have a video of it on the boat running if anyone thinks that would help. Here is what the boat looks like. Thanks. Ron
