Mystery lower unit

I bought a 1999 2 stroke yamaha 115. It has a low water pickup on the lower unit. Bobs machine says it’s not their nose cone and it’s a stock part, but I’ve never seen another lower unit look like this.

I can’t get the photo to upload, but basically the water intake isn’t on the side up high like normal, it’s down near the front of the lower unit. It’s definitely not like what bobs machine sells. Strangely, their stabilizer has been installed on it though. The seller says it’s a bobs lower unit but they say no.

anyone know where this lower unit got this way?

wow not sure how I missed that, thank you. So is that possibly a replaced lower unit. I mean it is 22 years old so it’s very possible. The manual and all other photos I see of this model didn’t look like that.

The "B" makes it a Yamaha "inshore" outboard..... You can search the term for a better understanding. I think it was only available for two years.
