I have a 2006 Mercury Optimax 150 HP. Serial #1b275993 I have been getting a constant alarm after about 5 minutes of idle. I assumed it was a cooling issue and have replaced the impeller, thermostats, poppit valve and cleaned out the lines the best I can. I have oil in the small tank. I am still getting the alarm. Seems to have a solid telltale stream, but I know that can be deceiving.
While I was looking at the engine I notice a light grey tube that does not go to anything. No idea if this has anything to do with the alarm. I haven't been able to figure out what it is anywhere.
See pictures. It was on the port side of the engine but goes back around the back over to a T. One picture is the T connection, the other is the tube.
Any help would be appreciated.
