Hey guys great forum here with some good info. I have a 90hp and i was trolling yesturday and it just quit out of knowhere and now i have no spark. I will be looking at the stator,trigger and switch box. My serial number is OC253226 and i cant find anywhere what year it is to order parts. I have had this motor for 12 years and this is the first issue. Also i noticed it was always showing my voltage on my battery guage at 18v when running and 14v with key on and i have a brand new battery in it. Maybe this can help point me to where the problem is... thxs
 
you don't need the year, just the serial number...follow the link above that says Engine Diagrams (Mercury).

18VDC running sounds like the voltage regulator isn't regulating...as far as finding the bad part, a DVA-equipped meter is damn near a necessity. Follow the factory service manual is also a prudent path.
