Some "mechanic" was going to repair my 1989 2.2 Mercury and returned the motor minus the carb and several trim items and controls, etc.
The serial number on the mount for the motor says 0A846589. Model 312. I can't find that number in any database. I bought it new in Canada in 1989. I can find what appear to be most of the parts. I can't find the carburetor. It says "obsolete" under the listing for carb unit. I think they mean "discontinued". For if it were "obsolete" then it would not be a usable item and there would be no point in offering parts for it.
Any suggestions re: the odd serial number and what carb would fit on it?
