The motor runs for a couple of minutes and then stalls. It will idle a while when I start from cold but after it dies I can restart it and it will die only after a couple seconds. I have replaced the i.a.c. with #862998 or 18-7701 with no change. However I noticed that that i.a.c. says that it is for ECM 555. I have a ECM0402. Do I need a diffrent I.A.C. for this ECM?

The label on my ECM says:
350 Mag BRAVO
864377-005
892201
MY2003p3AAAf_0008_5.7_BRAVO_P_AA-5434415
mercury marine p/n 892204
ECM0402

any help you can give me would be appreciated.

The idle air controller is for deceleration. Has nothing to do with starting or idling. It opens to allow bypass air into the engine as you back off the throttle so that you aren't dumping too much gas into the cylinders. The GM one is pretty much the same for all V6 and V8 as far as I know.
As for your fuel starvation problem, start at the tank and work towards the engine. You are looking for restrictions and blockage. If necessary, pull off any rubber fuel hoses and check by blowing through and replace if there's any doubt. How old are the fuel filters?
