Merc 200 EFI 1995 Limp mode from docks 8 min. runs great

The engine will only turn about 1800 RPM when leaving docks and remains that way for 8-10 minutes at full throttle. Then suddenly takes off and runs great for rest of day.5000-to 5800 rpm It is like an old mare who doesn't want to leave the barn but when she turns to go home she runs great. Best analogy.
Could it be stuck thermostats in open position? Ive checked fuel hoses and anti-siphon hose they are clear. possible fuel pump? something else?

Motor does not have a limp mode....check stator/switcboxes as sound like its dropped a bank

Once the motor drops a bank would it be out and then be able to come back on? It only does this in the morning, its like it just needs to warm up.

So you believe its electrical rather than fuel or temperature?

Easy test...when its acting up take a timing light and see which side is not firing.
