merc 150 hs XR6

I have a 1999 outboard and I am not sure if I need a trim tab. The unit has a flat plate (anodized) there now. Its been a while and I don't remember if thier was one. The reason I am asking is because at higher speeds the steering seems too loose. By the way I have power steering.

Do you mean too much wheel play or what?

No the Xr series gearcases use a flat anode....

Yes, the faster I go the steering seems too loosen. I know that with power steering it gete easier to move the faster you go but this feels like it is getting away from me, If I continued I would lose control....
